I’ve used this product for about two years now after switching from Norton.
Pc-Cillin is a dream compared to every other product I’ve used. It runs flawlessly on both Windows XP and Windows Vista.
Unlike some others who have claimed that it slows down there system, I’ve found that is simply not the case. It sits idly in the tray icon and only awakens when needed (scanning eMails, intercepting potential viruses, performing software updates, and the like)
Installation was a breeze — no problems at all. Updates are completely automated and never pose require intervention on my part. Everything is seamless.
It works very well as a firewall as well, in-fact I’d be quite comfortable using it as my only firewall if I wasn’t already using a NetGear router. You can configure the firewall to open/block specific internet traffic, ports, and even control how much security you’d like to give individual applications.
Another bonus feature is that if you run more than one computer in the household, PC-Cillin offers the ability to administer (run virus scans) on remote machines. If you’re the assigned “geek” of the household, then you can easily scan your kids/siblings/parents computers all from your own desktop.
Pc-Cillin also offers various instant messaging scanning, phishing fraud detection, and a wireless network monitor to keep you safe if you’re using your computer as a wireless network access point.
Pc-Cillin has kept my system safe for two years, it hasn’t slowed down my computer at all, and has caught many spyware cookies and other potential issues since I’ve installed it. I also use it in conjunction with SpyBot and AdAware on occasion when I feel the need to do a thorough scan.

I bought this because my entire computer crashed in a big way, so I got it all fixed and decided to switch my antivirus from Norton to PC-Cillin because PC-Cillin had gotten such good reviews in the past. I’m glad I did. Everytime I would run a scan with Norton, I would get the dreaded “blue screen” hours later at about 80%; not with PC-Cillin. It was easy to install and easy to scan. It allows you to scan the entire computer much quicker than Norton and it will also let you do a custom scan. So far so good! PC-Cillin is working out much better than Norton ever did.

I’ve used Trend Micro’s PC-cillin for 3-4 years and have been very happy with the security the virus protection provides, and how easy it is to use and maintain. The included firewall protection made the product even better- 2 great products for 1 average price.
Now, the 2007 edition includes, at no additional cost, the best spam protection I’ve ever used. I’ve been looking for a good spam filter and was disappointed with everything I saw. They either filter too much or make you do the work by providing a list of incoming mail every day.
PC-cillin attached to Outlook (only, I’m sorry to say) and from day 1 the spam was cut down 99%. Very, very few mistakes with false positives and false negatives– maybe 1 a week.
I think it’s the best product for virus protection, I know it’s the best product for spam protection.

I switched to Pc-cillin 2006 after being very frustrated with Norton, which would periodically hang my system and slow it down. Pc-cillin ran perfectly, and the spam filter was so much better. However, after my subscription ran out, I read and believed the negative reviews about Pc-cillin 2007.
So, instead, I tried BitDefender. Which slowed my system considerably, and had a horrible spam filter. I then downloaded a trial of Pc-cillin 2007, and was surprised it was just as good as Pc-cillin 2006. It didn’t slow down my system at all.
So, now I’ve switched to Pc-cillin 2007. If only I hadn’t believe the bad reviews about it, I could have saved the $40 from trying BitDefender first.

I’ve been using Trend Micro products on all our computers for 4 years, so naturally I ordered the 3-Pack of the 2007 version when it became available. Big mistake. It’s got so many watchdog features that your computer is popping up warning messages everytime you visit a website. My main gripe is that it slows down my Gmail account so much that completing an email without a freeze-up for 45-90 seconds is virtually impossible.
To maintain any kind of processor speed, I’d disabled most of the software’s features, maintaining only the most basic virus protection. Strangely, even though I’ve disabled the webmail protection feature, it still monitors my gmail account, followed by the inevitable freeze-up.
I think Trend Micro has way overcomplicated the process, which is a shame, since I have been a real fan of this software brand for years. I am throwing out the software and the remaining 2007 licenses and buying some 2006 MicroTrend products, since that was a great antivirus product. So was the 2005 version.
